Hocus Pocus Book Tag

I wasn’t tagged for this one, but I’ve seen it a lot recently and I’ve been wanting to do it. So…obviously I decided to do it on a super busy day, during a readathon, when I should be reading and/or getting ready 😛

The Rules:

  • There are no rules. It’s YOUR blog. But it would be nice if you linked back to Never Not Reading (tag creator), and maybe the person who tagged you too. Share the love folks.
  • Feel free to use the GIFs used by Never Not Reading, the graphics made by Flavia the Bibliophile if you would like, both, or make and use your own visuals!

A Great and Terrible Beauty (Gemma Doyle #1)
Rebel Angels (Gemma Doyle, #2)
The Sweet Far Thing (Gemma Doyle, #3)

The Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray ❤ This is one of my favorite trilogies ever, and I highly recommend it.

Erm… Miss (Agatha) Trunchbull from Matilda by Roald Dahl was seriously terrible.

Aside from the obvious (Harry Potter)…maybe Coraline by Neil Gaiman?

The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, #1-5)

Gotta go with The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. I love this five-part-trilogy 😛

John Dies at the End (John Dies at the End, #1)

I…have no idea. Maybe John Dies at the End by David Wong. (Ok, maybe it’s less trying to be cool and more trying to be funny or something, but either way I think it failed which is one reason I DNF’d it :/ )

Undead Girl Gang

I could probably think of several potentially better examples, but Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson immediately came to mind.

Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #1)

The Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton has 26 books so far :/

Caraval (Caraval, #1)

OMG Caraval by Stephanie Garber. What’s-her-name…Scarlet? Too. Stupid. To. Live.

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1)

I loved how things ended inthe Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, but I would totally resurrect it if I could.

Ghostwalk by Rebecca Stott. I think people went into it expecting something totally different, while I went into it with zero expectations because it was a total cover buy. (The parchment-y looking cover lifts and the upper right corner is actually cut to that shape, so you’re seeing the red page underneath, and it caught my eye.)

Night Film

I’m not really sure how to interpret this one :/ Maybe Night Film by Marisha Pessl.

Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows, #2)

Some of the crew from the Grisha trilogy popped up in Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo, and I was living for seeing my precious book children again ❤

I’m not tagging anyone, but if you want to do it, go for it and consider yourself tagged!
