Fandom Mashups: July 2nd

fandom mashup.png

This is a weekly meme created by Lunar Rainbows. Every week there’s a new scenario and you choose 5 characters from 5 different fandoms to complete the task.

I’m sooooo late posting this, but I’m finally feeling less awful, and I wanted to do this topic.

The topic this week is: Where are the Extroverts at?  Who are your 5 favorite fictional social-butterflies?

My picks (in no order):

giphy

Buffy Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer– She didn’t really get to be much of an extrovert after she became the Slayer, but she was still a social butterfly at heart.

giphy1

Arizona Robbins from Grey’s Anatomy–
love Arizona. Like, I don’t know how to express how much I adore her, even though people like her are too much for me to handle in real life for very long. I just think she’s she’s great.

giphy2

Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments– How could I make a list of extroverts and not include Magnus?

giphy3Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter– Don’t let movie-Ginny fool you, book-Ginny was a popular, outgoing, ass-kicking, Quidditch-playing, awesome character.

giphy4Wade Wilson (AKA Deadpool) from Marvel– I really debated about putting Wade on here, but, after conferring with husband about it to help me decide, I had to because I freaking love Deadpool.

Who are some of your favorite extroverted characters?

T5W: Favorite Side Character Ships!

top-5-wednesday

June 14th: Side Ships
— Tell us your favorite relationships that don’t involve the protagonist!

**Warning: Some strong language ahead in this post, if anyone’s bothered by that.**

Honestly, I’m not much of a shipper, and when I do ship, it’s usually a canon ship for main characters. (Also, I’m kind of cheating with one, and seriously cheating with another of these, but the serious cheat is the ship I’ll go down with, damn it!)

But, these are a few I came up with, in no particular order…

(All the covers link to the goodreads page for the book)

256683Magnus Bane & Alec Lightwood (from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare)

These two, ugh. They were why I mostly finished the series (I couldn’t actually make it through City of Holy Fuck This is Long Heavenly Fire, and I literally just skimmed it to get the basics because I was so done with that series), and I love them. They are my precious book children and I want them to be happy.

3Dean Thomas & Seamus Finnigan (from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling)

Ok, this is one of the only non-canon ships I’ve ever had, but I’m still including it because a) I actually ship it, b) it’s a side-characters-ship, and c) it’s such a popular ship it might as well be canon. Like, Devon Murray even tweeted about how Dean & Seamus could get married in Ireland a couple of years ago when gay marriage was legalized.

8490112Zuzana Nováková & Mikolas Vavra (from the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series by Laini Taylor)

I haven’t read this in years, but I remember liking these two and wishing we’d seen more of them. (Also, I’ve only read the first two books, and I barely remember anything from the first book now :/ )

41865Jasper Hale & Alice Cullen (from The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer)

I can not believe I have a ship from those god awful books, considering how much I hated them, but the thing is, all the side characters were so much more interesting than Boring Bella and Exasperating Edward. (I’m sorry, Twilight fans, but the books were not for me, and while I hated the books, I don’t have any bad feelings about the people who did enjoy them.)

And now, my big cheat for this week…

22055262Holland Vosjik & HAPPINESS, DAMN IT (from the Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab)

Do I need to say more about this one?

T5W: Fictional Jobs You’d Want to Have

top-5-wednesday

March 1st – Fictional Jobs You’d Want to Have
— Any fictional career you’d want to have? Remember, T5W is always open to movies, tv, and video games as well.

There have been so many fictional jobs I’ve been interested in that I can’t even remember them all anymore. This was a hard list to narrow down, and honestly I would probably suck at all of these (or die), but here we go!

High Warlock of London– The Mortal Instruments/The Infernal Devices
As much as I love Magnus, I wouldn’t want to replace him in Brooklyn. I liked TID way more than TMI, so I think I’d like working as the High Warlock of London more than anywhere else.

Private Investigator/Wizard– The Dresden Files
I’m honestly not sure if I’m in love with Harry Dresden, or if I want to be him, but I can totally see myself doing what he does if I lived in that universe. (I can’t remember what women like Harry are called…are they witches? Are they something else? Time for a re-read, I think!)

Editor for the Quibbler–Harry Potter
Why not The Daily Prophet? Well, I’m not sure, to be honest. I think I just liked The Quibbler more overall because it was so weird to most of the wizarding world. I think I’d prefer that to possibly dealing with people like Rita Skeeter at work.

The Keeper– Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings
Is it weird that I like some of the Tinkerbell movies? I think The Keeper was probably my second favorite character from any of them, and I liked what he did. I can totally see myself reacting to “the sparkle” the same way he did, and I think writing about the fairies would be fascinating, even if I was a fairy in that universe.

A Hunter– Supernatural
I had to include this, even though I’m about 99% sure I’d die really fast in that universe. But honestly, I’d want to do what Bobby did. I think I could take jobs, but I’d prefer doing research and being the person other hunters relied on for figuring out what they’re up against and how to defeat it.

What are some fictional jobs you think you would enjoy?
